Soundscapes debuts at Krankenhaus Festival
Festival-goers found themselves immersed in Soundscapes, whilst visiting Muncaster Castle in Cumbria, over the August bank holiday weekend.
This brand-new event, delivered in partnership with Tube UK, who are experts in the curation of live sound, received fantastic feedback from those who took time out from the festival, to soak up the sound of nature and immerse themselves in their natural environment.
The trail flowed through the castle's tranquil, historic grounds, and the surround sound was installed across four different zones.
Starting off with the Fairy Tale Walk, the audio trail ran the full length of the existing enchanted trail for younger visitors. Made extra magical by the addition of bird song and other sounds of nature, created by award-winning composer Dan Jones. Visitors then made their way to Dragonfly Pond, next to the pet cemetery, where they were immersed in a full 360 experience of sound.
From there, the trail led to the Sundial Garden, before ending at Cannon Bank with a dramatic view across the Cumbrian hills and a soundtrack by festival hosts Sea Power, who collaborated on the audio in this zone and curated the line-up for this year's festival.
