Soundscapes... 'listen to the landscape'

New for 2026, Soundscapes is part of Krankenhaus Festival's packed weekend programme of live music, talks, family events and activities in Cumbria. 

Soundscapes is the perfect way for festival-goers and day visitors to Muncaster Castle to take a break from the crowds and connect with their festival surroundings. 

The trail is installed across four sections of the Castle's grounds and takes around an hour to complete. During which you can immerse yourself in the natural environment, take a break from the crowds, and soak up the sound of nature on this unique immersive audio trail. 

Running as part of this year's organised activities programme, Soundscapes is the perfect place to take your time, change your pace, calm your mind and connect with the beauty of your surroundings. 

The installation features music and sound by BAFTA and Ivor Novello-winning composer Dan Jones, and content from BAFTA winning Mercury nominated Sea Power.

Soundscapes uses minimal power consumption and is delivered by Tube - experts in the curation of live sound.
