Leading contemporary artists were commissioned to exhibit in the grounds and rooms at Belsay Hall, Castle and Gardens, a property in the care of English Heritage near Newcastle. The exhibition Extraordinary Measures explored and played with the concept of scale, and was the second exhibition Culture Creative had installed in this space. One of the greatest challenges was realising the work of Mariele Neudecker whose piece From Here to There is not that Far was a recreation of one of the windows in the house. The window was 12m tall and made from glass, steel and foil and positioned in the quarry where there was limited access for vehicles. Exhibiting alongside Mariele was Mat Collishaw, Tessa Farmer, Ron Mueck, Slinkachu and Ciaran Treanor.
