The Palace of Oz, Blenheim Palace

The Palace of Oz, Blenheim Palace, Woodstock, Oxfordshire

Runs until 3 January 2026

Blenheim Palace brings its 75th anniversary year to a close with our spectacular indoor trail: The Palace of Oz.

Reimagined by BAFTA award-winning designer Clare Elliott, who heads up the design team at Culture Creative. Clare's take on the story of The Wizard of Oz leads visitors on an immersive journey into the heart of Baum’s fantastical world.

Visitors follow a road of yellow bricks, encounter a seven-metre cyclone, a six-foot Tin Woodsman, a talking scarecrow, Glinda the Good Witch and 50 flying monkeys, all brought magically to life with theatrical precision.

To create The Palace of Oz, takes our inhouse design team at least nine months. Once the theme has been confirmed, the team start by creating mood boards and researching each element of the story. Then they spend time deciding how the story will be told across the State Rooms of the Palace.

Once this has been decided on paper, it is up to Clare and her team to interpret each of the themes and start creating the props and dressing for each room.

As a company, we are renowned for our rich and painstaking attention to visual storytelling, and in recent years, we have created award-winning installations across the UK, Europe and North America, blending large-scale sculpture, intricate scenic dressing, and atmospheric lighting to transform historic spaces.
