In Bloom is a celebration of blooming and of how important flowers are to so many rituals around the world.
Weddings, funerals, fertility, forgiveness, remembrance, and love. The inspiring beauty of spring flowers is central to a myriad of cultures.
Like cherry blossom swept up in the wind, the colourful swirl of petals dances in the eternal circle of life and reminds us to appreciate the fleeting moments of beauty all around us. The petals mark the moments of celebration, love and loss in the life journeys we each embark on. In Bloom is an ode to the beauty and fragility of life itself, and a blooming oasis in the winter night.

After graduating from the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam, contemporary artist Pim Vlug went on to work in a variety of disciplines. For the past 15 years, his focus has been on monumental light art and video art installations. Wilhelmusvlug lives and works just north of Amsterdam.
