Mandy Nicholson

Mandy Nicholson has three new works 'Layers of Country', By the Birrarung' and 'Wurun kurn-brook' as part of this year's Lightscape trail.

Mandy is a Wurundjeri-willam (Wurundjeri-baluk patriline) artist and Traditional Custodian of Narrm (Melbourne) and surrounds. She has connections to the Dja Dja wurrung and Ngurai illam wurrung language groups of the Central/Eastern Kulin Nation on her father's side and German on her mothers. Mandy is a recognised artist across many mediums, a qualified archaeologist, leader of the Djirri Djirri Dance Group and a Woiwurrung language specialist.

Mandy’s style consists of traditional motifs of south-eastern Australia, blended with her own contemporary interpretation.
