On 25 August 2012, two amateur football matches took place in a Scottish forest, as part of the Cultural Olympiad and London 2012 Festival. Forest Pitch by artist Craig Coulthard was a celebration of art and sport that revives the original spirt of the modern Olympics. Culture Creative worked with the production company on this project which involved felling spruce trees to make space for the pitch, creating goalposts, benches and a changing room deep within a forest in the Scottish Borders. We also managed the event on the day which included car parking, catering, signage and crowd health and safety. After the match the crowd disbanded and Forest Pitch near Selkirk was left to grow back.
